Staff Art Show Begins 8-28-11

Our talented staff is proud to present their works in HPBnG Westgate’s latest gallery. It will be on display until October 1, 2011. View more artwork by clicking here.

  • David Abel is a professional photographer, outdoorsman, an avid whitewater kayaker and rafter. In 1984 while studying Geology at the University of Texas in Austin, he was invited on a raft trip down Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park. David was so enamored by the river environment that he has devoted most of his life traveling North America in search of remote river canyons, capturing their beauty with his camera.
  • Chris Connor was born and raised in Chicago, IL. He has spent the majority of his life in Dallas and the last seven years in Austin. Connor began painting in oils fifteen years ago, starting off as a hobby that turned into an obsession. Striving in every attempt to capture something fresh and exciting but at the same time, based upon traditional values.
  • Mackenzie Graham was an art history major at the University of Texas who focuses her artistic interest with an academic and professional lens. Her concern for art extends beyond paint and canvas, reaching into the sphere of creative exposure and engaging local audiences in physical art. With oil paint and crayon, Mackenzie displays texture and color while realizing the limitations of her medium. She uses her ability to put perception to page to heighten her audience’s view of the world.
  • Anne Ducote has resided in Austin since 1976. Over the years, travel has been a large part of her life, and as a result, her work reflects some of the beautiful places and things she has seen. Her creative endeavors have included her original paintings in oils, watercolors and pastel drawing, several print series and assorted prints, commercial work, faux finishing, murals, commissioned painting used on movie sets, portraiture, and the like. Her subjects range from the ordinary to the sublime.

Nominate Your Healthcare Heroes!

Help us honor Austin’s Healthcare Heroes — now thru June!

We at Hyde Park Bar & Grill take great joy in knowing that you, our customers, enjoy our food and our service. But we also know that there are lots of people out there working hard to provide many other essential services and goods. We may provide great food, but other folks provide more than that. And it’s with that in mind that we created our Healthcare Heroes contest for May and June.

Nominations are coming in for Austin’s Healthcare Hero and we’re excited to see who else will join the list. Deadline for nominations is May 31 and voting will begin June 6.

So we encourage you to take this opportunity to nominate your family doctor, or any other healthcare professional who you feel has made a positive impact for a person or community.   Anyone involved in healthcare for humans (sorry, no vets this time!) – so alternative health and mental health professionals are also welcome.

Go HERE TO NOMINATE, NOW THRU MAY 31.

Contest Instructions:

NOMINATE – Healthcare Heroes during the month of May

VOTE – for Healthcare Heroes during the month of June

SAVE – wear scrubs or show medical ID every Monday in June for special savings at Hyde Park Bar & Grill

WIN – Get the most votes as a Healthcare Hero in Hyde Park Bar & Grill’s online contest to win a Grand Prize, or be the one who nominates a winner to win a Second Prize. Healthcare Heroes must be nominated and get the most votes in order to win a Grand Prize. The first to nominate them will win a Second Prize. You must register for Hyde Park’s email list to participate.

Grand Prize:

Two Grand Prizes will be awarded to the two Healthcare Heroes with the most votes at the end of June. Each will get one Grand Prize gift package valued at approximately $300.

The Grand Prize includes:
-Dinner for 4 at either Hyde Park Bar & Grill location
-Tickets to a performance at Hyde Park Theater
-A $50 gift card from Freytag’s Florist
-A paint your own pottery experience courtesy of Cafe Monet
-4 free Yoga classes from YogaYoga

2nd Prize:

The two people who nominate the two winning Healthcare Heroes will each win a gift certificate for $50 each — enough to cover a nice dinner for two at Hyde Park Bar & Grill. Each of the 2 Hyde Park Bar & Grill locations will give away one $50 Gift Card.
