For one thing, she officiates at weddings (and will conduct the wedding of former Hyde Parker Marshall Jones before too long at Zach Scott Theatre, but that’s another story).
But well before she was a wedding officiator, she was a writer. (We suspect she was born a writer.) She authors books, magazine articles and . . . restaurant reviews for prestigious magazines such as Jet Blue’s inflight publication.

We have a thing for Austin, music, musicians, art and photography. So when one of our favorite photographers of Austin musicians hangs work at one of our restaurants, it’s reason to celebrate.
Come meet photographer John Grubbs, aka “Rockslide,” as well as painters from Robin Tripaldi’s group, Artitude.

Mo McMorrow’s CD, “Mona Lisas Don’t Cry” includes some of Austin’s heaviest hitters with Gurf Morlix, Eliza Gilkyson, Ray Bonneville, Cindy Cashdollar and BettySoo to name just a few.
Mo McMorrow is our Special Guest on Tues, Apr 27
On Tuesday, Apr 27, she’ll be our Special Guest at our weekly Bluesday Tuesday series, hosted by Jimi Lee, who not only plays a world-class harmonica and is a songwriter in his own right, but continues to bring us some of the most interesting talents in town.
Phoebe Hunt is a woman in high demand. That’s why we jumped at the chance to have her appear once more at Bluesday Tuesday — this April 13. (Apologies to Ulrich Ellison fans for the late schedule change — look for him on May 4).

Phoebe and host Jimi Lee and play their way into your hearts on Tuesday night. Get there early to get a good seat!
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, Hyde Park Bar & Grill is offering Trinity Oaks Pinot Grigio and their Pinot Noir for just $5 a glass and $19 a bottle.
Drink Trinity Oaks' wine at HPB&G to help plant trees.
What’s special about that — besides some very decent wine at a great price — is that Trinity Oaks has the One Bottle One Tree program. For every bottle they sell, they plant one tree.
Artist Dale Whistler (creator of much iconic Austin public art) created “a wind-powered, kinetic musical piece that celebrates nature, made primarily of recycled and re-purposed materials .”
We celebrated the new art on Saturday, April 17 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at our Duval location.
Artist Dale Whistler was on hand for the unveiling and did some cool cariacatures for some cool kids! More to come . . .
You, too, could become a cariacature. Stop by Sat for the Fork Art party and get one free.

The Marshall Ford Swing Band is the reason we decided to have music on the patio on a regular basis.
They played one starry night in early spring of ’09 and cast their magic spell over everyone from the customers to the kitchen staff to bartenders to the managers. Add to that the fact that they’re just really nice folks and you have an evening to remember.
But wait . . . there’s more! They have a NEW CD out now, and Sunday, April 18 will be the first time they’ll play Hyde Park since it’s been released. So this is everybody’s big chance to get a CD — and insist that they sign it, too!

Steve Callif is one talented guy. In addition to being a professional comedian, he’s a songwriter extraordinaire, and he ain’t half bad on guitar. (We hear he’s a roundball fan as well.)
Jimi Lee's guest on April 18 will be songwriter / comedian Steve Callif (right).
Steve makes a return appearance as our Special Guest on Tuesday, Apr 20 with host Jimi Lee.
members of The Lindy Project will perform at Sunday Swing on April 25
“There are short-cuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them.” ~Vicki Baum
On Sunday, Apr 25, members of The Lindy Project will perform at about 7:50 pm.
The Jitterbug Vipers will play that evening, too, so everyone will get a chance to cut a rug!
Sunday Swing, every Sunday, weather permitting, 7:30-9:30pm (or 7-9 during non-daylight savings time) on the patio at Hyde Park Bar & Grill @ Westgate. Come on out . . .
